I like the palapas with the built in table.

They have Hobie Cats for their guest to use.

And kayaks, and empty chairs too.
Hemmingways outside deck is right behind the Hobie's.

After an empty lot you come to Bay Bistro, the restaurant at...

The Sibonne.
I've read about how few chairs they have here and I can see that now. But still they aren't claimed yet.

Next is The Somerset.

The beach there was empty too.
No chair wars in October I guess.

I thought it was cool that they had this clock in the center of the buildings.
It was 8:10am.

After The Somerset is The Regent Palms.

Standing in front of The Palms looking back at The Somerset and beyond. It really felt like I was pretty much alone.

The Palms had these tent shade things that fit 2 chairs and there is a little round table stuffed behind each pair of chairs.

After The Palms is The Alexandra.

Caicos Dream Tours operates from the beach right here between The Palms and The Alexandra.

Continuing west along Grace Bay.
It's a beautiful morning.

After The Alexandra comes the not yet finished Veranda.

When we were there in October there was some construction and activity going on, but I've since heard they stopped work and have no money to continue.

It's a shame because I really loved the small quaint-ness of the way it was set up. It's nice that it isn't multiple stories hogging up the skyline.

Which brings us to this work in progress.
Since coming home I've learned that it is an addition to the Beaches property.
I am surprised since Beaches isn't a tall resort. I rather love the low-rise resorts along Grace Bay. It's sad to see so much going so tall.

There was something in the water...

It's a big tire. Strange sight for the waters edge along Grace Bay.
Heavy sigh...development is bound to ruin paradise.

Coming up to Beaches.

They have all kinds of activities here.

For those who like all-inclusive vacations this place has a great reputation.

This is what is meant when it's said that Beaches beachfront is cramped.

It's the most narrow beachfront I've seen on Grace Bay. When the waves are crashing I wonder if there is any beach at all to sit on?

There is shade on the beach here in the early mornings and I like that.

Our first trip to Grace Bay there were tall trees like these all up and down the beach.
It's nice that beaches hasn't ripped them up and expanded.

There's a market up ahead. *

I have no idea what building or room types these are but if I was staying at Beaches that's where I'd want to be.

Coming up to the Market.

Once past Beaches the beach almost immediately widens.

Did I mention how great the shadey waters edge was?
It's only in the morning when the sun is low but it's still hot and so the shade provides a nice relief from the sun.

There was a whole group of these little houses.
I think someone once told me it's called Treasure Beach Villas and that Beaches is trying to buy the property to expand.
I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the first time.

I know this house...it's Villa Oasis.
Someone did a trip report with photos of a stay here once and it's a great house to rent. The location on the beach is lovely too.

There is only a small pool up there but it's so close to the beach who needs a pool for more than a dip.

Imagine sunset drinks there...

It's for sale...
I wish I could live there.

Looking back to the east I can barely see the Beaches dock or The resorts beyond.
But you can see how nice the shady beach is...

Continuing westward...

Another villa or house with a prime location.
Snorkling at Coral Gardens is just steps down the beach from here.

See the red buoys surrounding the reef?

The water is crystal clear.
It looks like there might be some good snorkling right from here even.

This new construction I believe is The Windsong.
I wonder if they will be opening soon. It seemed they were pretty far along with construction.

I liked the color and look of it.
Maybe they do have a ways to go before opening though...

Coral Gardens is the white building behind the blue tarp so people staying here will be in an ideal spot to snorkle.

The Bight Reef is right there. Snorkling is permitted around the red buoys in a huge circle.
There is lots to see and in the grassy areas on the far side you can often find turtles.

Coral Gardens beach is almost completely empty.

All are welcome to come here to snorkle but the chairs are for guests only.

Turtle Cove Marina is just over yonder.
The white condos are right at the marina.
