Smith’s Reef [click on the picture for a printable PDF]
To get to Smith's reef, drive to Turtle Cove area. Turn down Bridge Rd where you see signs for Baci and Sharkbite. Follow that road over the bridge to a “T” intersection.
There are two options at this point.
· You can turn right and follow that to a public beach access where you can park and follow the access out to the beach. Turn right on the beach and you will see a yellow house with a round porch that has white railings. You can enter the water there and you will find some large coral heads. If you snorkel your way westward (to the left) you will see different reefs all the way up to what is technically considered Smith’s Reef.
· You can turn left and follow Coconut Rd all the way to the end and park there. This is technically Smith’s Reef. It is a little further from shore and the reef is a bit deeper than the other spots. You will be in the water closer to the boat channel as it is right next to the cut into Turtle Cove so remember to exercise caution.
